Citation: 95 Con LR 127 TCC (causation issues in relation to the failure of a substantial water main)

Nature of case:
Considers the issue of causation in the context of the bursting of a water main; causation is primarily a question of fact to be resolved by common sense inquiry.  The cause here was held to be construction work carried out on London Bridge Station as part of the Jubilee Line project.
