Mediation

Keating Chambers has considerable experience in mediation. Members regularly advise and assist clients in mediations, and Chambers includes a number of experienced mediators of all levels of seniority, who are available for mediator and conciliator appointments. This includes two highly experienced and highly regarded full-time mediators, Rosemary Jackson KC and Robert Evans.

Mediators at Keating Chambers mediate a wide range of domestic and international disputes. As well as construction law and professional negligence (including complex, high value, multi-party disputes), they mediate all types of commercial disputes as well as disputes involving wider practice areas, such as property, insolvency, insurance, competition law and share agreements. They also have substantial experience in the co-mediation of large multi-party disputes where they can combine their collective experience and offer a specific service to parties. This has proved to be very effective and popular in circumstances where traditional mediation may seem impossible, impractical or expensive due to the amount of time needed to efficiently case-manage the dispute.

Our mediators are highly regarded for their ability to analyse complicated legal and technical issues and absorb the information quickly, and for their personal skills in dealing with difficult situations, as their recommendations in the directories demonstrate. In recognition that certain disputes can be difficult to litigate cost effectively, we offer a number of Fixed Fee Mediation Packages, for disputes up to a value of £600,000.  Under each of these packages a mediator (who is not a KC) can offer the parties speedy and cost-effective assistance with resolving their dispute.

All of our mediators are available for direct appointment through Chambers by contacting our ADR Practice Manager, Oliver Goldsmith. He will be pleased to assist with any mediation enquiry and provide details of the accreditation and experience of our mediators (which can also be found on their individual CVs). As well as providing seamless administration, direct appointments allow us to offer mediation accommodation free of charge (subject to availability).

Our mediators strive to provide the best possible service at all times and we are always looking to improve this. If you wish to provide feedback on our service, please use our feedback form or consult our Mediation Complaints Procedure.
