Chambers & Partners: Asia-Pacific Guide Rankings 2023

The Chambers & Partners Asia-Pacific 2023 Guide was launched today and we are pleased to have five members of Keating ranked.

INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION: MOST IN DEMAND ARBITRATORS IN ASIA-PACIFIC REGION

This section features John Marrin KC and Robert Gaitskell KC. John is praised for “ability to handle large, complex and cross-border construction and engineering disputes.” and is noted for his experience in matters arising in Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia and the Philippines. Clients comment that Robert “is well prepared, very collegiate and a very very good arbitrator” and he is lauded for his training as an engineer, giving him “certain technical skills which other arbitrators for construction who are lawyers may not have”. INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION – THE BAR – ASIA-PACIFIC REGION

This section features Philip Boulding KCAdam Constable KC and Simon Hughes KC. Phil, who is a “wonderful advocate and ferocious cross-examiner in arbitrations”, is based in Hong Kong and the Guide also notes his strong presence in Macau, Singapore, the Philippines, and increasingly in Australia. Adam, who is particularly experienced in matters linked to Australia, South Korea and South-East Asia, is “very good and always has the ear of the tribunal”. Simon, noted principally for his experience in matters concerning major energy or resources-related projects, many of which are located in the Asia-Pacific region, is recommended as being “absolutely brilliant”, with a client commenting that he “wiped the floor with his opposition and was leagues above them in advocacy” .
