Adjudication enforcement: in court and in arbitration?
Justin Mort KC will speak at the Pinsent Masons lecture in memory of Christopher Miers and John Redmond on “Adjudication enforcement: in court and in arbitration?”, on Monday 17 April at 5.30pm (UK time).
The Lecture will discuss whether a construction contract with an arbitration clause requires an adjudicator’s decision to be enforced in arbitration and therefore whether a party resisting enforcement was entitled to a stay under section 9 of the Arbitration Act. This will look at some of the issues addressed in Northumbrian Water Ltd v Doosan Enpure & Anor [2022] EWHC 2881.
Justin Mort KC has a specific interest in and expertise in projects involving energy, infrastructure, and process engineering with a focus on high-value construction disputes. Justin is recommended in Chambers Global and Legal 500 for Construction (both in the UK and Middle East) and International Arbitration. Comments in the current editions include:
“His attention to detail is phenomenal and his cross-examination style formidable.” (Chambers Global: construction)
“Justin is a persuasive advocate who tears through detail to get to the points that really matter. His advocacy is exceptional – clear, cogent and compelling.” (Legal 500: London Bar, construction)
Justin’s practice is fairly spread across the High Court (TCC and Commercial Court), international arbitration (including all of the principal institutional rules) and adjudication / dispute adjudication boards or their equivalent.
