Resolving Disputes in Construction

London

7th November 2018 5:30pm

The Young Members’ Group (YMG) of CIArb is hosting a panel discussion in London on 7 November 2018. The panel will discuss “smash and grab” adjudications in the  arbitration, adjudication and mediation worlds, with Elizabeth Repper providing the mediation perspective.

Resolving Disputes in Construction: Where do we go from here?

In light of Justice Coulson’s decision in Grove Developments Limited v S&T (UK) Limited [2018] EWHC 123 (TCC):

  • Is the era of the “smash and grab” adjudication at an end?
  • Which are the best means by which disputes can be settled in the construction industry?
  • What are the implications of the judgment for the construction field and those that practice and act as neutrals within it?

This event is likely to be of interest to construction professionals and legal practitioners advising parties in respect of construction disputes, construction adjudicators and arbitrator, young members aspiring to practice in the construction field and those with an interest in construction matters.
