Date: 9 December 2020

The Planning Inspectorate (Paul Singleton BSc MA MRTPI) has today issued a decision allowing an appeal by Mr Peter Gilder against the refusal by Cotswold District Council of his application for planning permission for a 102-space electric car charging facility on the A429 Fosseway. This is the first planning appeal inquiry to consider an electric car charging facility. The scheme would be the UK’s largest such facility to date and one of the largest in Europe. Charles Banner QC acted for the successful appellant, instructed by Guy Wakefield of Ridge and Partners LLP.
