Silk Appointments: Paul Buckingham and William Webb

Date: 23 December 2022

We are delighted to announce that Paul Buckingham and William Webb have both been successful in their applications for silk.

Paul specialises in major construction, engineering and energy disputes, having been called to the Bar after eight years working as a chemical engineer in the oil and gas industries. His particular area of interest and expertise lies in international arbitration and he has worked on a wide range of contentious matters involving international construction and engineering projects. He is described in the directories as “A brilliant barrister with a very sharp and analytical legal brain” who “displays excellent judgement and never puts a foot wrong on the law”.

William has a busy specialist practice in all aspects of construction, engineering, energy and PFI disputes including claims relating to payment, defects, delay and disruption and professional negligence. He is a popular choice as an advocate in the Technology and Construction Court, where he has a wide experience of both trials and interim applications and has a particular expertise in adjudication enforcement actions. Will is described as “a brilliantly analytical barrister” with “the ability to distil detail and convey complex arguments accessibly and compellingly”.

This is the first announcement of new King’s Counsel in over 70 years and their appointments will take effect following a ceremony in March 2023. On behalf of everyone at Keating Chambers we send Paul and William our heartfelt congratulations.
