Wellbeing at the Bar

Date: 19 May 2023

We are pleased to share that we have been awarded a ‘Certificate of Recognition by Wellbeing at the Bar’ by the Bar Council for “invaluable work demonstrating commitment to the barristers’ profession”, relating to wellbeing of staff, barristers and pupils. The Bar Council have just relaunched the Wellbeing Certificates this week as part of #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek.

This award is a testament to the ongoing commitment by Keating Chambers to provide support to improve mental and physical wellbeing. Keating employs a number of tools to this end, including regular training, mentoring and 360 feedback. We encourage an open and inclusive culture, facilitating social events that break down any perceived hierarchies and encouraging pursuits outside of day-to-day work, for example a Chambers rock band, netball matches and other sporting events throughout the year.

Rosemary Jackson KC, Deputy Head of Chambers with Responsibility for Members and Staff, commented: “Many thanks to those members of Staff and Chambers who do so much on a daily basis to support and improve the wellbeing of everyone at Keating. It makes me very proud that we are such a caring organisation and that this has been recognised.”
