Nature of case:
Priory Hotel, St Helens, owned by the claimant (Priory) was damaged by fire. Repair and refurbishment was undertaken by the defendent (Capita). In the present proceedings Priory alleged that Capita had been negligent in the design, specification and supervision of the repair and that as a result the hotel had been disastrously affected by damp penetration.
