SCL Birmingham: ‘The Great Debate’

Shoosmiths’ Offices, Birmingham

7th May 2024 5:45pm for a 6:00pm start

“Hypothetically, the Government has decided to amend the HGCRA, but only has time to make one amendment. What one thing would you change about the Act and why?”

On 7 May 2024, Sarah Hannaford KC and Brenna Conroy (of Keating Chambers) will be arguing the merits for their proposed amendment against that proposed by Mark Chennells KC and Omar Eljadi (Atkin Chambers). The debate will be chaired by His Honour Judge Watson and the audience will get the chance to vote for which of the two proposed amendments they support.

The event takes place in person only at Shoosmiths’ offices in Birmingham. Refreshments will be served from 5:45pm for a 6.00pm start, with drinks and networking opportunities following the debate.
