Edmund began his pupillage at Keating in September 2023, having been called to the Bar earlier that year. Before starting as a Pupil, Edmund spent a year working as a Judicial Assistant for Lord Justice Phillips in the Court of Appeal, which involved legal research, memo-writing and drafting. Edmund also spent four months working for Scotia Group, an international thinktank formed to provide proposals and strategies for parties at COP26. Edmund was a Working Group Leader for a team which developed a strategy for Japan’s Minister of Economy. The resulting proposal was entered into and won the Stanley Hoffman Louise Richardson Prize, an under 35’s prize for best policy proposal to strengthen the rule of law and/or achieve net-zero by 2050. Edmund also previously worked as an intern in the Legal Policy and Research Unit of the International Bar Association, during which time he did research on the UN Guiding Principles on Business Human Rights and drafted a speech for the president of the IBA.

Edmund completed his Bar Course in 2022 with a Distinction, and the year before that completed his Post-Graduate Diploma in Law with a Distinction. Edmund graduated with a First in Theology, Religion and Philosophy of Religion at Cambridge in 2020. Academic awards received whilst an undergraduate included: the Mary Ann Leighton Scholarship 2020; the Burney Prize 2020; the JY Gibson Prize in 2020 and 2019; the Emily Davies Scholarship 2019.

In his spare time, Edmund enjoys cooking and reading. He is also a keen long-distance hiker, and has walked across Israel, southern Turkey, and the length of the Peloponnese.
