Not Just for International Women’s Day: Celebrating Women in Chambers and Progress

08 December 2025

We believe that recognising women’s achievements should never be confined to a single day. While International Women’s Day is an important global date, our commitment to diversity and inclusion is woven into everything we do, every day.

This year, we have been proud to celebrate a series of female-led achievements that reflect progress across the profession:

  • The appointment of our first female Head of Chambers, Sarah Hannaford KC.
  • Sarah Hannaford KC featured in The Lawyer’s Top 20 Cases of 2025, winning Public Procurement Lawyer of the Year at the Lexology Index Awards 2025 and shortlisted for Public Serves & Charities Silk of the Year at the Legal 500 UK Bar Awards.
  • Rosemary Jackson KC Awarded ‘Honorary Member of the Society’ at the Society of Construction Law Annual Dinner.
  • Lucy Garrett KC shortlisted for Construction Silk of the Year at the Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 UK Bar Awards.
  • Alexandra Bodnar appointed to the Technology and Construction Bar Association Executive Committee.
  • Rachael O’Hagan shortlisted for Construction Junior of the Year at the Chambers UK Bar awards.
  • Jennie Wild shortlisted for English Bar in the Middle East: Construction Junior of the Year at the Legal 500 MENA Awards.
  • Mercy Milgo appointed to the Technology and Construction Bar Association Executive Committee.
  • Courtney Burrell-Eade and Connie Trendle joining as tenants following successful completion of their pupillage.
  • Alison Crosland shortlisted for Chambers Leader of the Year at the Legal 500 UK Bar Awards.

These achievements are not isolated moments, they are part of a sustained effort to foster an environment where talent thrives regardless of sex or gender. From mentoring initiatives to equality programmes, we are committed to driving meaningful change.

Alison Crosland, Keating Chambers’ COO, has commented: “Progress is not about one day of celebration; it’s about creating opportunities and breaking barriers every day.
