William Webb KC and Tom Lazur will speak at DWF’s Construction Conference: Licence to build, taking place at DWF’s London office on Tuesday 3 November 2026. Both are confirmed as speakers on the conference programme.
The conference will consider the legal, commercial and strategic challenges currently shaping the construction industry, with sessions addressing extension of time and liquidated damages, corporate group liability following the Building Safety Act, AI governance and the use of standard form contracts.
Tom's session, ‘Dr No Entitlement’, will explore the prevention principle through a case study involving employer variations and concurrent delay. He will be joined by Lucy Preston of DWF and Martin Hicks of Delta Consulting Group, with the discussion considering extensions of time, liquidated damages, causation and concurrency, and the interaction between legal principles, programming analysis and project records.
Will’s session, ‘No time to hide: Corporate group liability after the Building Safety Act’, will consider the developing approach to corporate group liability and the implications for parties seeking recovery, defending claims or managing corporate risk. He will be joined by Ryan Wood of J.S. Held, Alan Barnett and Jonathan Gaskell of DWF, with the discussion also considering insolvency risks, acquisitions and corporate structuring.
