Keating Chambers Scholarship 2026 – Angella Browne

23 March 2026

Keating Chambers is pleased to congratulate Angella Browne on being awarded the 2026 Keating Chambers Scholarship in association with the scholarship programme at Gray's Inn. The Keating Chambers Social Mobility Scholarship, launched in 2022 in partnership with Gray’s Inn, supports Bar Course students from backgrounds under‑represented at the Bar. Angella becomes our fourth scholar through this initiative.

Angella shared some background on her journey to the Commercial Bar: “I am biologically Italian and was adopted at a young age by an English-Italian family. Throughout my life I’ve loved foreign languages, and I went to St Andrews to read English, Spanish and Italian. I then completed my GDL at BPP and began working as a legal advisor in an international recruitment firm. I still work there, but have gone part-time whilst I complete the Bar Course with ICCA. I also participated in the 33rd International Commercial Arbitration Vis Moot as a member of the Gray’s Inn team, and received the Gray’s Inn Michael Mustill Scholarship for training in international commercial arbitration, which I am using towards a two-week summer school in Vienna.”

As part of our commitment to meaningful support beyond financial assistance, the Scholarship also includes mentoring from a member of Chambers and an unassessed mini‑pupillage.

Background information on the Scholarship

Keating Chambers and Gray’s Inn are committed to supporting aspiring barristers from all backgrounds, promoting social mobility and increasing diversity at the Bar. In awarding £15,000 to the winning candidate, the Keating Chambers Scholarship supports a Bar Student from a background under-represented at the Bar, who may not have otherwise been able to embark on this journey.
