Alexander Nissen QC and Thomas Lazur of Keating Chambers were instructed by Burges Salmon in September 2016 to represent the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (‘NDA’) in quantum proceedings defending a £180m claim by Atk Energy EU Limited.
This claim followed the High Court’s ruling in July that Atk Energy should have been awarded a contract to clean up 12 nuclear sites in the UK.
The quantum proceedings concerned the extent to which Atk Energy had suffered losses as a consequence. Settlement was reached in late March 2017 for a payment of less than half the claim. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-39403615
