Are you ready for the security of payment statutory regime in Hong Kong?

Philip Boulding KC and Ian Pennicott KC will be speaking on the Security of Payment statutory regime (SOPSR) which will come into effect in the near future. The half day training programme comprising a seminar and workshop is taking place on Monday 9 October 2023 and will be hosted at Mayer Brown (Hong Kong office).

The seminar will discuss various topics including the background of the SOPSR, its current status, the Government’s initiatives and pilot scheme, the more salient statutory provisions, and practical tips from a professional quantum consultant to employers on how to prepare for the implementation of the SOPSR.

This will be followed by an interactive workshop for a deep-dive into case studies highlighting the technical and legal issues in play and discussion and practical tips on how these issues may be resolved from the perspectives of UK, Singapore and Hong Kong legal practitioners.

Philip will be sharing his overseas perspectives and experiences, and Ian will be speaking about the key features of the proposed SOPSR in Hong Kong and the enforcement issues.

Philip and Ian will be joined by expert speakers from Mayer Brown (Hong Kong & Singapore) and Ankura Consulting (Hong Kong).
